Terroir - that mystical marriage of soil, of climate, of geology, of viticulture – that influences our grape character and quality.

Our Terroir:
High Clandon Estate Vineyard lies high on the chalky limestone Surrey Hills, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty  -  the ideal geology for an English champagne-style wine.  Our hills face South East which helps to capture sunlight and ripen our grapes optimally.

The geology of the Surrey Hills is rare and of the same limestone formation as that found in the Champagne region. Being chalky, forces the vines to struggle and yet counter-intuitively, enhances grape flavours.

Since 2004, we have striven to produce a superb English Quality Sparkling Wine – our Quintessence – on our small hand-manicured vineyard.

Being small, allows us to strive for true excellence, to strive to have a wine of true character which displays flavours of its terroir, and to invest in maturing our wine to develop it to perfection.

Think of us as being the 'haute couture' of wine.
Handcrafted.  Hand manicured.  Hand made.
Small is beautiful.
